Bright and flexible apartment layout in New York

This apartment was designed follow bold and sculptural character. The architects converted the initial three-bedroom dark space  from the 1980 into a one-bedroom home with plenty of light and a flexible layout.
Located on the corner of the 5th floor of a tenement building overlooking Sarah Roosevelt Park in New York, USA, the apartment offers extensive city views. Its interior is divided by a sculptural wave-like wall that houses the laundry, storage and the powder room.
Most of the walls are exposed brick that has been white-washed. The team preserved bits of history in the apartment such as the leaving traces of vintage wallpaper in the kitchen area and the original brick walls. The tiles in the powder room are bas-relief honey combs and the master bath is an all plate glass enclosure. An inspiring color palette and a good natural light flow make this place harmonious and refreshing. The furniture items are original and highly functional, their design perfectly complementing the industrial style brick walls. Enjoy the photos and let us know what you think!
